I picked up the Nikon D90 specifically to play around with the video features. I ended up selling off my Canon gear and switching entirely to Nikon for a few months... at which time I'll be picking up a Canon 5D mark II. I won't be selling off the Nikon, most likely... keeping it will allow me to help others who have the camera get the most out of the video features of it, and how to use both video and photo to deliver new products to their clients that were previously pretty much impossible.
Lan, Carlie and I took a trip to San Francisco last week to do photo shoots of Veronica Belmont, Schlomo Rabinowitz, Neha Tiwari and Sarah Lane. It ended up being a great trip, and the shoots went fantastically. Results will be posted to The Bui Brothers site... but not just photos... we also shot tons of great video on the D90 AND the 5DmkII. After reviewing the footage for the past couple of days I have to say I am in love with these cameras.
This is a quick fun clip from inside the parking garage of our hotel show with the Nikon D90 with Sigma 20mm f/1.8. The lens is fantastic, even though it gets mixed reviews. I would have bought a Nikkor but they don't have any fast wides! Light was pretty much crap in the garage, but these things shoot in the dark. Check it out, it's silly... but you will probably laugh. That makes it all worth it. Really, it does.
