So I rode my new bike today and I start my new job tomorrow. I haven't given up on real estate, it's just impossible to go on without a paycheck. Once I have money again I can do real estate part-time. We'll see what happens. At least I'm pretty sure I'm going to like my new job... The Rockhopper did great. It was everything I had hoped it would be. I go uphill much further and downhill much faster now. The only downside is the seat. My ass is in pain. I'm sure I will get used to it, but I know that I won't be riding for a few days until the bruises heal. I think I'm going to follow in Lan's footsteps, though, and buy a Rock Shox Suspension Seat Post. He seems to like his quite a bit. We rode Ironman today, and I found that not riding for a couple weeks really puts you out of shape. I suppose it also has to do with the fact I was in pretty bad shape to begin with, and I had only been exercising for a few weeks before I took this break... but I didn't expect to perform as poorly as I did today. It was ok though, I just wish I had figured out how to convert my fork from 80mm to 100mm before the ride, instead of after. I had tried and tried to do what the manual said, but to no avail. After looking a little more closely I found that they had basically changed the product without changing the literature. Pretty bad if you ask me. Oh well, I figured it out eventually, with a little help from Lan.
Well, I'm off to bed so I can wake up bright and early and go to work... huh?
